Wild Blues Yonder

Artists Statement

“The Wild Blues Yonder band was formed in 2006 with the intent to produce and perform original “Rockin’ Blues” music.  We are a boomer-aged band (mid-fifties) and have been playing in bands since the late sixties.  Karen Arudda fronts the band as lead vocalist and she also writes the lyrics to our tunes.  She grew up in Eureka, CA.  Nick Gribkoff is the band leader and guitar master, and he grew up in Yreka, CA, and Hawaii.  Ralph Torres is a man of many basses and he is originally from LA, having arrived in Siskiyou County in the late 70s.  Steve Knight (Griz) came to Siskiyou County in 1977 from back east and plays the drums.

We have produced one live CD and a studio release of 12 original songs called “Elsewhere Skies”, which has done well.  The band has written another 10 songs and are producing another CD.

We are performing these songs out this season for the first time.  WBY has played in most all the local festivals, such as the Weed Carnivale, McCloud Mountain Music Festival, Rogue Valley Blues Festival and at the Siskiyou Golden Fair.  We love to travel and we have a large, powerful PA system (Carvin 10KW) that we can provide.  We play all venues, small to large, and are professional, tight and easy to work with.”
