Rocks of Fire~Bob and Judy Counts

The artisans who craft these oil candles live deep in the Siskiyou Mountains of Northern California. They live in a small log Cabin, without electricity, and originally created these rock oil lamps for their own use. The rocks are collected on their land and are unaltered except for the interior cavity and wicks.

Two types of rock are used. One is schist and the other is marble, which was formed millions of years ago when the present broken mountains of Northern California were the flat bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
