Gifts & Grants

The Siskiyou Arts Council has started a Grants and Gifts for the Arts program that will provide financial assistance to individuals and enable them to meet their goals in the Arts.

Grants will be awarded (in the $50-$100 range)to individuals that have requested assistance, have demonstrated a need, and have been approved by the Grants & Gifts Committee. The “Grants” piece of this program is self nominating and is intended to assist artists in supplementing the costs for the incidentals that would otherwise not be affordable. For Example, incidentals such as materials, tuition, transportation, and support services.

Gifts will be awarded ($1000) by the Grants & Gifts Committee to individuals who have been nominated to have demonstrated heart and vitality in Siskiyou County and have fostered a spirit of creativity and prosperity through excellence in the arts. The “Gifts” piece of this program is to honor and award artists that have excelled at their art. The nominees will be evaluated and awards will be given twice a year.

Reason for Grant or Gift, if Gift, provide the person’s name you are nominating and a description of his/her achievement.

All requests for Grants need to be sent by the 20th of each month in order to be reviewed by the committee and if approved, awarded by the first of the following month. Nominations for Achievement Gifts need to be made in November and May for awards to be evaluated, approved and awarded in January and June.
