I began voice studies in the Los Angeles area and have studied guitar at Sonoma State University and flute at Antelope Valley College.  I was a member of advanced chamber choirs–the Glendale College Ladies Chamber Choir (Glendale, CA), Northern California Chamber Choir (Santa Rosa Junior College, CA), and the COS Ladies Chamber Choir (Weed, CA).

I also play flute and saxophone, sing backups, and do voice work for radio (currently Z100 in Mt. Shasta) and corporations (voice mail systems, etc.).  I have played in many bands performing rock, folk, jazz, (including standards), celtic, bluegrass, classical, and country music.  I have performed with many well-known local musicians, such as The Greg Jones Band, Class 6, and The Soul Exciters (formerly Soul Syndicate), and with personalities such as Roland Bautista of Earth, Wind & Fire and Kiki Ebsen, daughter of famous actor and musician Buddy Ebsen.

At the request of the event’s founder Dr. James Parker, in 2006 I began the Mt. Shasta Street Circus as a new facet of the Mt. Shasta Runners Fun Run/Walk (www.mtshastarunners.com), providing roving entertainment before and after the race, and  along the “walk” portion, traveling with the participants.

This is an entirely different group from the musicians on the stationary stages along the route.  The MSWC has been wildly popular, with a cast of over thirty performers last year, who also did shows at the Lake Siskiyou Campgrounds, the downtown area around the vendor booths, and at the Mt. Shasta Golf Resort, just before the fireworks.  The audience there enjoyed lessons from world-record-holding hula hooper Paul “Dizzy Hips” Blair.  Other entertainers include acrobats, stilt walkers, unicyclists, jugglers, clowns, costumed characters, roller skating faeries, hula hoopers, dancers, contortionists, musicians and singers.

I constantly network and play music with amazing artists all over Siskiyou County.  As a result, I am generally able to provide a variety of high quality music or entertainment for an event.

The opportunities provided through social networking websites have allowed our artists to meet each other and work in cooperation to enhance the arts in our community.  Please join us by searching Paula Reynolds in the Mount Shasta area on Facebook, or email chicmusique@gmail.com to be added to our friends network.  You can also call (530) 925-2770.       www.reverbnation.com/chickmusic
