Nancie de Ross
Biography
San Francisco native Nancie de Ross has collaborated with Elliot Mazer,
Chris Isaak, guitartist James Calvin Wilsey, Clive Gregson, Scott Matthews, Chuck Prophet and Grammy-winning songwriters Phil Galdston and Jon Lind. She has performed with Tom Waits, Chris Isaak, Todd Rundgren, Brian Setzer, Rob Wasserman and The Everly Brothers. Nancie has received Billboard’s Award Of Excellence for her original song “I Get Burned” as well as the NCSA Merit Award for her compostion “Today’s James.”
Nancie continues to tour the United States and has played such prestigious venues as San Francisco’s legendary Fillmore Auditorium, Warfield Theater and The Great American Music Hall. She has also played Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe. Her original composition “I Don’t Know Why” can be heard in the Jeff Goldblum Miramax Film “Fathers And Sons”. Nancie’s song “I Don’t Know Why” has recently been recorded by the late John Denver’s wife, Cassandra Delaney Denver.
Nancie has participated in many Bay Area charity events and can be heard performing her song “Looking For A Reason” on the Project Open Hand CD “Acoustic Music Project”. Ms. de Ross has been featured in Spin, GIG, Dirty Linen, Sing Out, Q, and Electronic Musician Magazines. Ms. de Ross is an accomplished musician, vocalist, songwriter and arranger. Nancie continues to perform live and has just released her first CD entitled “ROME”.
