Linda Vivas

Artist Statement

About this artist:

Vivas has studied art or worked in the art world since 1973.  She reached a peak level of technical excellence in her realistic oil painting in 2011 with her solo show Birth, Mirth, Morph, Earth. However, art competitions have not been on her radar.  She stays busy showing her art daily with the Mountain Arts Cooperative at the SAC Gallery in Mt Shasta.  Vivas has recently come to the paradoxical conclusion that she is happiest painting in two contrasting postmodern styles called Neo-Mysticism and Neo-Pop, as one addresses her numinous side and the other, her irreverent humor.  The first style takes the viewer inside him/herself and the second stops the viewer in his or her tracks, both of which she hopes will generate good energy for all : )
