Lee Carbah
Artist’s Statement
I live play in beautiful Scott Valley, CA, where riding horses and camping are two of my favorite pastimes. Many of the subjects I paint are found on these trips. My medium of choice has evolved over the years. I began in oil and now prefer acrylics but still paint in oil, watercolor and pastels. I paint a variety of subjects ranging from landscapes, animals (both wild and domestic) and seascapes. The surface I paint on ranges from saw blades, buckets, glass, wood and canvas.
I have no formal education in art, however, since 1993 I’ve taken lessons throughout California and Oregon and continue to study under local artists whenever possible.
My work can be seen at the Marble Rim Gallery in Fort Jones, the Siskiyou
Gallery and Frame in Yreka and at my studio at home in Etna.
