Francie Dillon
Artist’s Statement:
Francie’s contagious uplifting musical and storytelling style captures the hearts and minds of youngsters and families. Described as a “Magnetic Performer” by the Sacramento Bee, Francie’s remarkable showmanship and personal warmth shine through whether she is performing in a concert hall with the orchestra, at an outdoor festival, school, hospital or “story time” in an intimate bookstore setting. Her personal passion is promoting literacy and language development for young children. As a professor of Children’s Literature at CSUS, Francie enjoys any opportunity to help promote reading and family literacy.
Biography:
National award winning, Emmy nominated children’s recording artist and an
advocate for children’s literacy issues, Francie Dillon is a professor of Children’s Literature at California State University, Sacramento. She has been a keynote speaker at the Kansas State Reading Association Conference and The Young Authors Conference at Fort Hays University, Kansas. She has performed at hundreds of libraries and elementary school assemblies, fairs, festivals and special events. Visit her website for details.
