Eostar Estzer Gavalier

Artist’s Statement
Eostar Eszter Gavallér was born Hungary in 1970. She spent the first 19 years of her life in Miskolc, a city in the North of Hungary. She moved to the capital, Budapest, to study English and Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Eötvös Loránd. In 1992 she received a scholarship that took her to Madrid, Spain. Here she exposed herself to the vivid artistic vibration of the city and visited fine arts classes at the University of Complutense.

When she received her MA degree in Budapest in 1996 she traveled to Germany where she lived in the Bavarian Alps attending art classes in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. After a year spent in the picturesque alpine landscape she went to America and settled in another beautifully picturesque town in the State of Washington: Port Townsend. This small artist-community provided a very fertile soil for Eostar’s artistic blossom. She studied with Danny Adams, MFA whom she considers her most important teacher. For three years she attended the local QuimperArts Life Drawing Sessions every week. This gave her a very good foundation in portraying the human figure which is one of her most favorite subjects aside from completely abstract ones.

Eostar lists El Greco and Frida Kahlo as two of her most favorite artists.

Her sources of inspiration include the picturesque landscape she lives in, minute manifestations of the greatness of Spirit, glimpses of internal landscapes and reflections of the cosmos through the eye of the visionary. Eostar currently lives in Mount Shasta, Northern California, enjoying the gifts of nature and the powerful vibrational frequency at the foothills of the renowned sacred volcano. Aside from working as an artist she is also a “cosmic-folk” singer/songwriter/performer, and also a didjeridoo player, frame drum player and improvisational vocalist of the meditational journey-music band “EO”. “EO” will be playing such meditational journey music at the OM Temple on Fridays at 7pm. For directions please contact the owner of Soul Connections.

Eostar is also the founder of the unique self-healing support system called “Therap-eo” (www.artmarketonline.co.za/therap_eo). Eostar’s paintings are exposed at Soul Connections (on N. Mount Shasta Boulevard) as well as at temporary exhibits.

Song Lyrics written by Eostar Eszter Gavallér

LEARNING TO BE ME

I’ve learnt to be a mountain
I’ve learnt to be a tree
And now I’m finally learning
To be me
Just me

I’ve learnt to fly like eagles
I’ve learnt to run like deer
And now I’m finally learning
To walk in peace
Deep peace

Come here deep peace, dwell in me

I’ve learnt to move a boulder
I’ve learnt to cross the see
And now I’m finally learning
To walk in peace
Deep peace

Come here deep peace, dwell in me

I’ve learnt to be alone
When the love I searched was gone
And now I’m finally learning
We are one, just one

Come here, deep peace, dwell in m

HERE, IN MY ORCHARD

Here in my orchard
The impossible becomes
A fragrant rose
Here
I can touch
The depths of your soul

There’s a breeze I feel
It brings traces of
Your essence
There’s a sound I hear
Are you everywhere?

Be birthed by the Sun
Come to my orchard, come!

Here in my orchard
The unlikely
Is real
I can hold you
Up to the Sun
And see through
Your laughs and tears

There’s a breeze I feel
It brings traces of
Your essence
There’s a sound I hear
Are you everywhere?

Be birthed by the Sun
Come to my orchard, come!

THE ANSWER

What is the key to the here and the now?
What is beneath the where and the how?

Why am I still
Questioning
That which I know
To the core of my being?

Chrorus: The answer is buried in me
I’m the hand holding the key

How can I ask you
To show me your face?
How can I feel
Your rivers running through my veins?

Chorus

Where is the place of perfect peace?
Where is the gate that leads to eternal bliss?

INNER CHILD

Inner Child
Come forth
Talk to me

You’re the divine
Innocent
Part of me

I hear your voice, cry and rebel
I hear your breath gasping for air
v Chorus: I feel you rising within
Begging me to love you
I hear you talking to me
Telling me just how innocent
You are
Beautiful inner child
Innocent inner child
Loveable inner child

Inner Child
Come forth
Talk to me

So many times
I have cast
Judgment on Thee

Now that I listen to what you have to say
It’s time to heal
These wounds of self-hate

Chorus

It All Becomes Spirit

This is a visionary painting portraying Isis in a more flesh-and-blood way than the Egyptians used to depict her. She has dreadlocks and some african features. Her body is gracefully moving over the Cosmos as symbols appear behind and under her aiding her on her journey. Oil on canvas.

The hidden sap of a sacred tree
A droplet of water coming toward me
A love-letter that’s never been sent
Pots of gold, earned and spent

They all become spirit in the end
They all become spirit in the end

A shell hiding the rarest pearl
A thief’s hand on a crown jewel
Clouds painted by the hidden hand
An open gate at the rainbow’s end

They all become spirit in the end
They all become spirit in the end

It’s only a matter of time
It’s only a matter of time

Forests thirsty for the rains of spring
People waiting for god’s coming
Footsteps burning in the desert sand
A white-robed man reaching out his hand

They all become spirit in the end
They all become spirit in the end

It’s only a matter of time
It’s only a matter of time
